The following are a few scenes from "Dead Poets Society." I edited the scenes together and posted them on YouTube. This video captures well part of my teaching philosophy. I usually show and discuss this video the first week of class.

The professor asks Todd Andrews to come to the front of the room to recite his poem. Todd has no poem to recite so the professor pushes him to make a sort of extemporaneous poem from prior learned knowledge to create a new poem all his own. This illustrates Dr. Hart's teaching philosophy under point number five in the syllabus "students should be able to synthesize parts of what they have learned to create something new."
